Business says states not living up to Rio promise
5 June 2002 - Stockholm - Multinational companies and local communities have
done much more than governments to promote sustainable development during the
past 10 years, the head of a corporate lobby said yesterday.
"I think we are taking a lot of responsibility dealing with these issues,
and some governments aren't," Bjorn Stigson, the president of the World
Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), told Reuters in an interview.
