Aims/Objectives:

TRACE recognizes the price that corruption exacts from every industry and across all countries, undermining democractic processes and trust in public institutions. Corruption takes a toll on economies that can afford it least.

TRACE seeks to increase transparency in international business transactions by identifying local partners committed to ethical business practices.

TRACE prepares background reports on members committed to doing business in a clean and transparent manner and makes these available to organizations and companies that request them.

TRACE conducts workshops to train members and companies on international anti-corruption standards and on local anti-bribery laws.

TRACE is making anti-corruption laws and recent developments available in several languages on its website to ensure that this important information is available to all interested parties.

   

Measurable results and specific targets:

TRACE has trained more than a hundred small businesses on international and local anti-corruption standards.

TRACE is helping members to adopt written codes of conduct addressing bribery, kick-backs, nepotism and extrotion.

TRACE is identifying for international organizations and companies intermediaries committed to the TRACE standard of transparency and business ethics. Members can be searched by region or by industry.

   

Implementation mechanisms and further application:

TRACE partners with local NGOs and businesses at locations around the world in response to requests for training. Local organizations provide conference faciilties, enabling TRACE to undertake training at no cost to participants.

TRACE works with an international Advisory Council based in countries around the world to identify issues of concern to the local community.

TRACE is supported by a colition of businesses - large and small - lawyers, and intermediaries and non-governmental entities, all of which seek to take practical steps toward identifying business intermediaries and partners committed to succedding in challenging business environments while conducting themselves in an ethical and legal manner.
