Implementation mechanisms
and further application: |
|
| As capital by itself is not sufficient to develop successful environmental enterprises in developing countries, Environmental Enterprises helps new programs reach entrepreneurs whose projects would otherwise be too risky for commercial investment by diversifying the type of projects into new sectors for the local economy; employing local resources; improving the participation of youth, women and small entrepreneurs in the local economy; and involving local NGO’s. | | Environmental Enterprises also engages and educates a broader investment and entrepreneurial community by attracting new and quality investors and increase capital flowing to environmental industry in developing countries; building local capacity by educating local financial institutions to provide venture capital training; and conveying a variety of messages including: lessons learned through 11 years of investing; opportunities for green businesses in emerging markets in the years to come; environmental and financial criteria and how they are applied; case studies on deals. | |
