| The Sustainable Agriculture Integrated Resource for Ghana is an NGO formed in 1995 by Ghanaian agricultural scientists with other national and international organisations, with the following aims: | | Promote sustainable growth, which has been constrained by fundamental problems such as food insecurity and environmental conditions. | | Promote pilot projects for small farmers, including maize storage, inventory credit schemes and cultivation of cash crops including maize and yam. | | Implementation of community bore-holes to provide potable water for 10,000 communities. | |

| Through our work with the interior rural communities of the Greater Afram Plains area, a previously deprived and marginalised area, this area has become one the most fertile and productive areas of the country. | |

Implementation mechanisms

| Following the grant of initial funds, the money was utilised on the purchase and cultivation of maize, the creation of storage facilities and the digging of wells. | |
