Aims/Objectives:

Support education programs for children and teachers - supports UN Millennium Goal #2 - to achieve universal primary education.

Provide improved nutrition for children - supports UN Millennium Goal #1 - to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.

Address health needs for families and children - supports UN Millennium Goal #6 to combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.

Increase access to water and sanitation - supports UN Millennium Goal #7 to ensure environmental sustainability.

   

Measurable results and specific targets:

Partnership activities in 5 continents and over 25 countries in the past several years.

Educations programs have reached 650,000 students and over 8,000 teachers.

TB vaccinations provided for over 8 million children.

More than $850,000 raised for health and nutrition programs.

Lunches and other nourishment provided in numerous countries.

Water and sanitation access provided to 32,000 people - 342 toilet facilities and 85 water supply systems that service 17 communities and 52 schools in the Philippines.

   

Implementation mechanisms and further application:

Formed alliances with in-country government, ngo and business groups to ensure that local needs were addressed.

Integrated health and nutrition programs information and messages into national school programs.

Conducted scientific and consumer studies to confirm programs worked and delivered sustainable results.

Developed programs expectations to direct the activities of each partner.

Measured changes in behavior or health/nutrition status to determine benefits of the program and guide future improvements.
