| A $41 million project to provide potable water and sanitation to rural villages in Ghana, Mali and Niger, West Africa. | | To prevent waterborne disease and death, especially among children under five; | | Improve food security; | | Improve health; | | Alleviate poverty through creating a healthy, productive labor force; | | Prevent blindness (from trachoma and onchocerciasis); and | | Prevent illness from guinea work, schistosomiasis. |

| To provide the following to 500,000 people in target countries by 2008: | | 825 new water boreholes | | 100 water alternative resources | | 9,000 additional latrines | | Education and awareness in safe hygiene and sanitation practices. |
